Blog Post # 1

This is an advertisement for milk to be more specific a "Got Milk?" advertisement. This advertisement uses the famous soccer player David Beckham. This advertisement is promoting viewers to drink milk, and as you may see it is using the image of this famous fit soccer player to do so. It first states " Goal by Beckham. Body by milk." Followed by this there is a statement, " The protein in milk helps build muscle and some studies suggest teens who choose it tend to be slimmer."
Something that this advertisement uses in order to push the promotion of milk is the fact that they state "that according to studies teens who choose milk tend to be leaner"  making it more temping to believe. This has no proof that studies actually were done on this but the fact that they use the word "studies" tries to tackle mainly parents of many teens. In the way especially right now in the United States how obesity is in the high percentage among teens and children.
The use of this famous soccer player, David Beckham, uses him because since he drinks milk he is fit and has helped him build muscle. The way he is used in this advertisement as if he just finished playing a soccer game promotes this even more. All of this uses Semiotics.
